This
error can occur if the computer is shutdown when HomeBase was still running. In
order to resolve this, the hbdata file needs to be renamed and then you can
restore the data from the backup in HomeBase.
1. To rename the HomeBase file:
Right mouse click on [Windows Start], Select [System (C)] and then the yellow folder [Program Files]on the left-hand side. On the right-hand side you can select [HomeBase Folder] and locate your file. Then right click on the file and select [Properties] here you can change the backup file name from hbdata.hbd to hbdata.old.
2. To recover from backup in HomeBase 2.3:
Select [File] > [Recover] you will then be asked “Recovering data will overwrite all existing data in your database. Do you wish to continue?” Click [Yes] a new window will appear with the backup file select [Open]. You will then be notified “Recovery complete” click [OK], if you wish to have the auto-numbering feature switched on select [Yes].
